Meet Kariann

After spending much of my career in learning and development, I realised there was a another thread running through my work - supporting people through change, growth and the questions that arise when life no longer looks and feels as we expected. This eventually led me into counselling, where I discovered a deeper appreciation for the stories, emotions and experiences that shape our lives.

My experiences in my own relationships, loss and personal change, particularly where love and grief were concerned taught me that life’s most difficult seasons can become sacred thresholds. Rather than problems to be solved, they can become invitations to pause, listen and reconnect with what matters most.

This understanding, and my spiritual curiosity, also led me towards ministry and celebrancy. Alongside my counselling work I am trained as a minister and celebrant, deepening my appreciation for the ways we mark life’s meaningful moments and accompany one another with them.

Through ceremonies I am privileged to stand alongside people at some of life’s most meaningful moments. Whether celebrating a marriage, honouring a life, or marking a new beginning. I believe these occasions invite us to pause and recognise what truly matters. My role is to listen deeply, honour each unique story, and create ceremonies that reflect the heart of the people

Today I bring together counselling, ceremonies, and reflective guidance to create spaces where people can rest, find clarity, make meaning of life’s experiences and honours what matters most.

My work brings together professional counselling training, decades of experience supporting people through change, and a deep appreciation for the importance of life’s significant moments and transitions.

Counselling & Professional Memberships

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP 378975).

Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach to counselling that recognises both the psychological and spiritual dimensions of being human. It supports people to develop greater self-awareness, navigate life’s challenges and reconnect with meaning, purpose and their authentic sense of self.

I work within the BACP Ethical Framework and am committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice

Celebrancy & Ministry

Alongside my counselling work, I have completed my training in ministry and celebrancy. This two year journey deepened my understanding of my own spiritual practice as well as how we honour life’s significant moments and support one another through them.

Through weddings, funerals and other meaningful ceremonies, I am privileged to help people, celebrate, remember and acknowledge what matters most. I believe ceremonies offer something increasingly rare in modern life - a chance to pause, reflect and honour the stories, relationships and experiences that shape our lives.

Following my ordination in October, I expect to be authorised to conduct legal marriage ceremonies in Scotland. My legal marriage authorisation will through The Open Sanctuary, a spiritual but not religious authorising body recognised by the Registrar General for Scotland.

Reflective Guidance

Alongside counselling and celebrancy, I offer reflective Guidance using contemplative tools such as the Gene Keys and Human Design.

As a Gene Keys Guide, I offer reflective profile sessions that explore the themes, gifts and challenges emerging in your life. Together we can uncover patterns that may be influencing your relationships, sense of purpose and current circumstances, bringing greater clarity, self- understanding and perspective.

Human Design can add another layer of insight, helping you understand how you are naturally designed to make decisions, relate to others and navigate life’s opportunities and challenges

Professional Qualifications & Experience

Whether through counselling, ceremony or reflective guidance, my intentions is the same: to offer a compassionate space where you can pause, listen deeply and reconnect with what matters most as you navigate life’s changing seasons.

What I believe

I believe that our relationships. losses, transitions and celebrations all have something to teach us about who we are becoming

I believe that many of life’s most challenging seasons are not problems to be fixed, but invitations to pause, listen and reconnect with what matters most.

I believe that every person carries their own wisdom, and counselling, ceremony and reflective guidance can help create the space for that wisdom to emerge.

I believe that healing and growth happen when we are met with compassion rather than judgement, curiosity rather than certainty, and presence rather than pressure.

And I believe that life’s significant moments deserve to to be honoured - whether through conversation, reflection, ritual or celebration

If my approach resonates with you…

I’d love to hear your story. Whether you are considering counselling, a ceremony, or reflective guidance, you’re warmly invited to get in touch.
